In her words, Pashinyan’s candidacy was put up by YELQ and Tsarukyan blocs as well as by the independent candidates who quit the Republican Party of Armenia – Arsen Mikhaylov, Knyaz Hasanov, Tachat Vardapetyan and Shirak Torosyan. They make up 1/3 of the total number of MPs necessary for the nomination.
On October 16, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan resigned. This is the only way to dismiss the parliament.
