No disagreements between Armenia and Artsakh
YEREVAN, September 6. /ARKA/. Armenia's Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan downplayed today rumors about disagreements and tension in relations between Armenian and Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) authorities.

Speaking to reporters, he said there may be certain disagreements between the sides, but they are papered over through regular consultations.

'If there are contacts, there may be disagreements, but they should not be exaggerated and portrayed as a crisis or conflict,' he said.

“There is an ongoing active dialogue between Armenia and Artsakh not only on the bilateral, but also on the foreign policy agenda. We also meet for consultations on finding solutions to the Karabakh conflict settlement,” Mnatsakanyan said.

"Armenia has no mandate to speak on behalf of the people of Artsakh, and the consultations are aimed at increasing the efficiency of the Karabakh conflict negotiation process," Mnatsakanyan said.

Commenting on Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's statement made in Stepanakert that Artsakh is Armenia, the minister noted that it should be viewed in the overall context of the statement that was about  the priorities of Armenians, their unity and development and the common goals.

'I want to note that there is no alternative to a peaceful settlement of the conflict for the Armenian side," Mnatsakanyan said.

Speaking about the situation on the contact line, he said it is necessary to reduce the risks of escalation of tension and this is not the only but a necessary goal to create an atmosphere conducive to peace, while direct operational communication between Armenian and Azerbaijani sides is an effective tool that  serves the same purpose. -0-
