No obstacles to making Armenia-Tajikistan relations closer - Sargsyan

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan has received Tajik Foreign Minister Sirodjidin Aslov, the presidential press office reported on Saturday.
YEREVAN, July 4. /ARKA/. Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan has received Tajik Foreign Minister Sirodjidin Aslov, the presidential press office reported on Saturday.
The Armenian president welcomed the guest and expressed hope that his visit will give a new impetus to the strengthening and deepening of the Armenian-Tajik relations, will promote high level reciprocal visits and will allow for a greater use of the existing great potential for cooperation in different areas for the benefit of the two countries and peoples.
“On behalf of the Republic of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan expressed readiness to energize bilateral contacts and visits and underscored that there are no obstacles for the further deepening of the relations between the friendly states of Armenia and Tajikistan; the two countries efficiently cooperate in the framework of the CSTO and different international platforms,” the press office says.
The foreign minister of Tajikistan expressed gratitude for the reception and conveyed to the Armenian president warm greetings from President Emamoli Rahmon, his best wishes and readiness to further deepen the interstate relations.
Minister Aslov also spoke with satisfaction about the close Armenian-Tajik cooperation in the framework of different organizations and underscored that on the critical international and regional issues the positions of the two countries often come close. With regard to the development of bilateral relations, the minister stressed the importance of the intergovernmental commission, whose works, according to Aslov, need a boost.
At the meeting, the parties exchanged views also on the current regional and international issues and challenges, discussed the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process.
