YEREVAN, December 17. /ARKA/. Opening of a Russian-Armenian joint venture, ArmRostekhnologiyi, in the territory of Armenia is a topical issue for Armenia’s ministry of defense, defense minister Seyran Ohanyan said as quoted by Novosti-Armenia.

Experts will prepare proposals on a feasibility study in the near future, Ohanyan said.

The minister also said there is already Kamaz-Armenia joint venture based on Metekhim (Yerevan) and Kamaz company (Naberejnioye Chelni) operating in Armenia now as part of Armenia-Russia cooperation in defense.

But efforts are ongoing to create new joint ventures with various forms of integration, Ohanyan said.

Ohanyan noted the ministry is aiming at including a number of defense technology enterprises of Armenia in Russia’s defense system and creating certified service centers and joint ventures dealing with repair and maintenance of Russian made air defense means, MI helicopters and UAZ vehicles in particular. –0--
