Opposition MP detained in Armenia
YEREVAN, September 25. /ARKA/. Armenian police have detained an opposition member of the parliament Tadevos Avetisyan, the latter’s lawyer Arsen Babayan said
"If the law-enforcers do not prove that Tadevos Avetisyan committed a clear crime and that he was detained because of reasonable suspicion, those who detained him, those who gave them such an order, should bear criminal responsibility," he said in a Fcebook post.
Tadevos Avetisyan is a member of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation/Dashnaktsutyun party.
Armenian opposition activists have resumed Monday morning blocking streets in the capital Yerevan, as well as highways outside it.
The declared goal of the disobedience action organized by the National Committee is to paralyze the traffic and the work of the government agencies.
The opposition demands the resignation of PM Pashinyan and his government, who are accused of failing to protect Nagorno-Karabakh from Azerbaijani aggression.
Disobedience actions will continue until 11:00. At 18:00 the participants of the disobedience actions will again gather for a rally in the Republic Square.-0-
