YEREVAN, August 15. /ARKA/. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk will travel to Yerevan next week to discuss Armenia's work in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), TASS reports.

"I'm flying to Yerevan next week," he told reporters. "The trip itself was planned in advance, it is connected with the fact that a new legal act, a decree of the Armenian government, has appeared in the legal framework of the Republic of Armenia, which, in our opinion, contradicts the law of the Eurasian Economic Union."

According to Overchuk, this issue will be discussed during the upcoming visit. "Afterwards, a meeting took place in Washington, and a declaration was signed. Therefore, it is also expected that there will possibly be a meeting with [Armenian Prime Minister] Nikol Pashinyan, where we will discuss certain nuances that are primarily related to unblocking communications in the South Caucasus region," he added. The Deputy Prime Minister explained that Russia is interested in issues related to its interests in the South Caucasus, including the development of rail communications.
