PACE President Jean-Claude Mignon called upon the sides to activate the negotiation process over Karabakh conflict settlement within OSCE Minsk Group and to find a mutually agreed upon solution.

YEREVAN, May 31./ARKA/. PACE President Jean-Claude Mignon called upon the sides to activate the negotiation process over Karabakh conflict settlement within OSCE Minsk Group and to find a mutually agreed upon solution.
“As the members of parliaments and PACE, we should seek for political reconciliation and political decision. We should put all our efforts into it,” he said Friday at the meeting of PACE permanent commissions in Yerevan, Novosti-Armenia reports.
Mignon added this issue was discussed yesterday by PACE Bureau.
Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian, on his side, being asked whether the Council of Europe can have any significant role in the settlement process, said this structure has no mandate to involve into the negotiations, instead, OSCE Minsk Group is authorized to hold talks.
“But we appreciate it that the Council of Europe, PACE and some other European structures demonstrate their interest and efforts to support OSCE Minsk Group in seeking for peaceful settlement of the conflict based upon the co-chair’s proposals,” Nalbandian added. -0-
