The Republic of Armenia will make decisions on entry and exit to the TRIPP route, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced on Wednesday during government hour in the National Assembly.
YEREVAN, September 17. /ARKA/. The Republic of Armenia will make decisions on entry and exit to the TRIPP route, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced on Wednesday during government hour in the National Assembly.
He responded to a question from an MP about the recent statement by the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister regarding the TRIPP, who said: "Although it is Armenian territory, entry and exit will be from Azerbaijan."
Pashinyan explained that geographically, the route connects the main part of Azerbaijan with Nakhchivan through Armenian territory.
"There is no other option where the two entries and two exits of the TRIPP would not be from Azerbaijan; there is no other option. The TRIPP is from Azerbaijan's border to Azerbaijan's border," the Prime Minister said.
He emphasized that the project will be implemented within the jurisdiction and territorial integrity of Armenia.
When asked for clarification about who would make decisions directly regarding entry and exit, Pashinyan replied: "The Republic of Armenia, I'm being specific."
About the Project
TRIPP (Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity) envisages the creation of a multimodal transit route through Armenia, including between mainland Azerbaijan and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
According to the framework agreement signed between Armenia and the United States, Armenia retains full sovereignty, territorial integrity, and jurisdiction over all TRIPP implementation areas within its territory.
The agreement was signed by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on June 1, 2026, in Washington, and by Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan on June 4 in Yerevan.
