For a year and seven months, not a single soldier has been killed or wounded in gunfire on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, declared Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

YEREVAN, September 20. /ARKA/. For a year and seven months, not a single soldier has been killed or wounded in gunfire on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, declared Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

"Since independence, there has not been such a year and seven months. This is peace, and it must continue in the years to come," he noted at the 7th Congress of the ruling Civil Contract Party on Saturday.

According to the Prime Minister, Armenia has entered a completely new era, with peace established between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

"August 8 was the culmination of a long process," he said.

On the Washington Declaration

Following the meeting in Washington on August 8 between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, US President Donald Trump, and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, the leaders of the three countries signed a seven-point declaration. The document, in particular, declares the initialing by the foreign ministers of the parties of the agreed-upon text of the Agreement on the Establishment of Peace and Interstate Relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan; the signing of a statement by the foreign ministers of both countries on the dissolution of the OSCE Minsk Process and related structures; efforts to ensure unimpeded communication between Azerbaijan and Nakhchivan through the territory of Armenia based on respect for the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and jurisdiction of states; and Armenia's cooperation with the United States and third countries to define the framework for the implementation of the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) project in Armenia.

On August 11, the Armenian Foreign Ministry published the text of the initialed agreement, which includes 17 chapters.
