Pashinyan reaffirms his plan to visit Moscow for Victory Day parade

YEREVAN, May 7. /ARKA/. Speaking in parliament today Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan responded to a question of an MP whether his planned trip to Moscow for the Victory Parade will hurt Armenia's relations with the West.
"I accepted the Russian President's invitation to participate in the events. We have publicly stated that we are pursuing a balanced and balancing foreign policy. This does not mean that we will build our relations with some partners at the expense of others. It does not mean that we will not visit the Russian Federation and will not develop and deepen relations with it," Pashinyan said.
According to him, the event is not only very important in the context of the victory in World War II, but during the meetings in Moscow some issues will be discussed, including the bilateral agenda.
"It is not right to miss such occasions. All the more, I don't think criticism is appropriate. The event is more dedicated to May 9, but it is not a formal summit. There will be communication, but I'm not sure they will be formal. A very busy schedule is expected and we will work according to it," Pashinyan said.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that Pashinyan "planned and plans" to visit Moscow for May 9 Victory Parade. -0-
