YEREVAN, March 26. /ARKA/. The issue of managing Armenia's railways was discussed during a recent telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated at a briefing on Thursday.

"We are currently working on this issue. There is no news; the normal work process is underway," Pashinyan said.

Earlier, the Armenian Prime Minister did not rule out the possibility of Russia selling the right to manage Armenia's railways to another country friendly to Armenia and Russia, such as Qatar, the UAE, or Kazakhstan.

Pashinyan also stated that, as part of the TRIPP project, several countries are proposing to build a railway link between Nakhchivan and the mainland of Azerbaijan, bypassing Armenia, pointing out that the Armenian railway is managed by a Russian company. According to him, due to Russia's control of the Armenian railway, "Armenia is losing its competitive advantage."
