Pashinyan: South Caucasus ready to unlock its potential and become part of the global connectivity system
YEREVAN, October 9. /ARКА/. For the first time in modern history, the South Caucasus region is politically and logistically ready to unlock its untapped potential and integrate into the overall system of interconnections between Europe, the South Caucasus, and Central Asia. This was stated by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, speaking at the third Global Gateway international forum.

"TRIPP is a promising investment project that opens up opportunities for cooperation from railways to energy. Armenia is ready to become a bridge between these regions, developing not only infrastructure but also digital and energy connections," Pashinyan said.

According to him, with the establishment of peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan and positive momentum in Armenian-Turkish normalization, the Armenian government's "Crossroads of Peace" project is being realized, holding full potential to change the dynamics not only in the South Caucasus but also beyond. During the summit in Washington on August 8, attended by US President Donald Trump, Armenia and Azerbaijan reached an agreement to open infrastructure based on the principles of territorial integrity, sovereignty, inviolability of borders, jurisdiction, and reciprocity. An agreement was also reached on the 'Trump Route,'" Pashinyan said.

He also noted that relations between Armenia and the EU have never been closer. The developing partnership creates unique opportunities for engagement in strategic infrastructure projects such as the Global Gateway, the Black Sea Strategy, and the Middle Corridor.

The seven-point declaration signed following the trilateral meeting between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, U.S. President Donald Trump, and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on August 8 in Washington includes the initialing of the “Agreement on Peace and Interstate Relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan”, the joint application to the OSCE on the dissolution of the OSCE Minsk Group mechanisms, the unblocking of regional communications within the framework of the principles of territorial integrity, sovereignty, and jurisdiction of countries and on the basis of reciprocity, as well as the “Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity” project.-0-
