Pashinyan congratulates Belarus president on winning presidential election

Armenia's Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan sent a congratulatory message to President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko on Monday in connection with the latter's re-election in the August 9 polls.

YEREVAN, August 10. /ARKA/. Armenia's Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan sent a congratulatory message to President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko on Monday in connection with the latter's re-election in the August 9 polls.
Pashinyan expressed confidence that Belarus and Armenia will strengthen the friendship between their peoples and expand mutually beneficial cooperation both in the bilateral format and within the framework of international organizations and integration associations.
"For my part, I am ready to make efforts so that we fully realize the full potential of cooperation between our peoples and countries. Taking this opportunity, I wish you good health, and peace and prosperity to the brotherly people of Belarus," Pashinyan said.
According to preliminary numbers, released by the Central Election Commission of Belarus, 80.23% of voters backed the incumbent Alexander Lukashenko, 9.9% of voters voted for Svetlana Tikhanovskaya. The latter has refused to accept the official outcome.
Protests erupted across Belarus after the polls. People who took to the streets believe that the election results were falsified. -0-
