Pashinyan dismisses advisor

YEREVAN, April 6. /ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan signed on Tuesday a decision to dismiss Arshak Karapetyan as adviser to the head of government.

Arshak Karapetyan was appointed to this post on December 17, 2018. At that time the appointment caused a wave of contradicting reactions in society.

Before being appointed as advisor to prime minister Major General Arshak Karapetyan served as Chief of the Intelligence Directorate at the General Staff of the Armed Forces, but was dismissed on April 26, 2016 by then President Serzh Sargsyan.

After appointing Karapetyan as adviser, Pashinyan was reminded by the journalists that his own supporters held Karapetyan responsible for the 'four-day' war in April 2016 in Artsakh. In response the prime minister said that he "read dozens, if not hundreds of pages of classified materials about the April war and did not find anything about the absence or lack of intelligence." -0-
