Pashinyan emphasizes importance of Armenia's relations with France

YEREVAN, September 16. /ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at a meeting today with French Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs Stephane Sejourne emphasized the importance of development of relations with France, including in the areas of security and economy. 

“Our strategy is that we want to strengthen and enhance our sovereignty, independence, our statehood, and of course we very much appreciate France's support on this path,” Pashinyan was quoted as saying by the press service of the government. 

The Prime Minister emphasized France's readiness to assist in the development of Armenia's relations with the EU. 

Sejourne also emphasized the importance of consistent development of cooperation between Armenia and France in the areas of security and economy.  

“France stands by Armenia and will continue to support the Armenian people. We have also made every effort to strengthen the relations between our two nations,” Sejourne noted.  

The interlocutors discussed various issues of the Armenian-French relations, exchanged views on Armenia-EU interaction and highlighted the launch of the Visa Liberalization Dialogue and the decision of the European Peace Facility to provide financial assistance to Armenia. -0-
