Pashinyan, Khamenei express belief Armenia-Iran cooperation will extend
YEREVAN, 22 May. /ARKA/. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had a meeting with the Supreme Leader of Iran Ali Khamenei in Tehran, the press service of the Armenian government reported on Wednesday.
Pashinyan expressed his condolences on the death of President of Iran Ebrahim Raisi, Minister of Foreign Affairs Amir Hossein Abdollahian, and their accompanying persons, noting that Armenia is with Iran during this difficult period. Khamenei thanked Pashinyan for coming to Iran and participating in a tribute event.
The two expressed belief that Armenia and Iran will continue steps aimed at the development and expansion of warm and friendly relations for the benefit of both countries.
A helicopter carrying the Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian, the Governor of the East Azerbaijan Province Malek Rahmati, the Imam of Tabriz Mohammad Ali Ale Hashem and several other people crashed on the way from Azerbaijan in the mountains of northwestern Iran on 19 May. None of the passengers aboard survived the crash.
