YEREVAN, October 25. /ARKA/. Armenian Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan didn’t rule out that he may be nominated to the prime-ministerial post again.
The National Assembly didn’t elect a prime minister yesterday. YELQ faction nominated Nikol Pashinyan to this position, but he was not elected.
The nomination and the vote following it were a mere formality, since in accordance with the Constitution, these procedures were necessary to dismiss the parliament.
Nevertheless, Pashinyan told journalists that he has got an excellent chance to speak on a number of very important issues.
On October 16, he resigned. Under the Armenian Constitution, snap parliamentary elections can be called only if the prime minister resigns and the parliament fails to replace him or her with someone else within two weeks.
New elections then shall be held no earlier than within 30 days and no later than within 45 days – approximately in the first half of December. -0---
