YEREVAN, April 30. /ARKA/. Addressing a recurrent meeting of the Intergovernmental Council of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) today in Yerevan, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said Armenia, which holds now the rotating chairmanship of the organization, will make every effort to strengthen the positive integration dynamics of the organization and will search actively for new ways and mechanisms for boosting cooperation.

According to him, one of the key integration vectors of the EEU is the creation of common markets for natural gas, oil and oil products and the phased formation of the common electricity market.

"We think we should  step up efforts aimed at resolving the sensitive issue of pricing on a non-discriminatory basis for energy resources and their transit through the territory of the member states, by taking into account transit components," said Pashinyan.

According to him, of particular interest is the full implementation of the digital agenda of the EEU. He said creation of  Eurasian ecosystems can contribute to the development of digital services, increase the share of  cross-border goods and services among the member countries and ensure a balance in regulating the market for digital services and related goods.

Pashinyan attached particular importance to the diversification of foreign economic relations of the EEU and added that Armenia is ready to make all possible efforts aimed at expanding the geography of free trade agreements and searching for new partners.

Among other priority areas of integration, Pashinyan singled out the need to develop and diversify the Eurasian transport infrastructure, as well as to increase the level of accessibility, ensure the growth and sustainability of financial services and develop competition in this market.

"It is also important to improve the regulatory framework that ensures the effective implementation of the rights and obligations of citizens of member states engaged in labor activities. We also consider it important to fully utilize the potential of domestic tourism within the Union," Pashinyan said. -0-
