Pashinyan: Turkey interested in failure of Moscow ceasefire agreement

YEREVAN, October 19. /ARKA/. Turkey is interested in the failure of the Moscow ceasefire agreement, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said in an interview with TASS news agency, when asked if he saw a chance for a return to the Russia-brokered ceasefire.

"I am sure that so far we have not managed to implement the Moscow agreement, because there are forces that prevent this, first of all it is Turkey. Turkey is interested in the failure of the Moscow agreement for two reasons," Pashinyan said.

He said Turkey's moves  are aimed at ousting Russia from the South Caucasus. "Let's not forget that this statement was adopted at the initiative of the President of Russia, at the initiative of the Russian Federation. Some forces, and in particular Turkey, are interested that the Russian initiative does not succeed. And they hope to undermine this way Russia's authority in the South Caucasus," he said.

According to the Armenian Prime Minister, "we all understand what is happening and we need to work persistently to return stability to our region."

"And of course, we will work very closely with Russia on this issue. And we hope that other co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group will also support these efforts," Pashinyan stressed.

According to Armenian military sources, some 6,259 Azerbaijani soldiers have been killed since September 27 when Azerbaijan attacked Nagorno-Karabakh and thousands have been wounded. Armenian forces have also destroyed 566 tanks and armored vehicles, 4 MLRS Smerch, Uragan, TOS-1A, 195 UAVs, 16 helicopters, 22 aircraft.

According to the official data of the Armenian side, during the repulsion of the enemy's aggression, more than 740 Armenian servicemen have been killed, several hundred people have been wounded. As a result of war crimes, over 36 civilians have been killed in Nagorno-Karabakh and over 115 wounded. -0
