"Dry Port" in Gyumri
It was previously reported that the Armenian government plans to invest $37 million in it. According to the project, the "dry port" will be adjacent to Shirak International Airport, the railway, and the North-South transport corridor.
It will include an airport with free economic zone status, distribution centers (hubs), small and medium-sized enterprises, light industry facilities, production facilities, production lines, and an international food market.
It is envisaged that the Shirak region will be transformed into an industrial zone, and the dry port will become a multifunctional and multimodal hub servicing regional and international companies requiring the consolidation of customs processes.
