Premier Karapetyan: Armenia to become best country for Armenians

Karen Karapetyan, Armenian prime minister, met Wednesday with representatives of Armenia’s embassy in Moscow as part of his visit to Russia, the press office of the Armenian government reports.

YEREVAN, January 25. /ARKA/. Karen Karapetyan, Armenian prime minister, met Wednesday with representatives of Armenia’s embassy in Moscow as part of his visit to Russia, the press office of the Armenian government reports.
The meeting in the embassy was attended by Bishop Ezras Nersisian of the Novo-Nakhichevan and Russian Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Russian businessmen as well as political and public activists.
Karapetyan presented details of the meeting with his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev and voiced satisfaction at eth results of the negotiations.
He also presented his 100-day activity report.
The premier singled out independence, security, justice and intellectuality as four important components of Armenia’s development.
”We have no option but to govern wisely in all areas,” he said. “Human capital is an absolute value to our country. I have repeatedly said from various platforms that countries with favorable environment for working and creative people, not countries rich in oil, gas and other natural resources appear in the row of happy states.”
In his words, the government intends to create maximally fair and transparent environment for such categories of people.
Speaking about the country's ties with Armenian communities worldwide, he said that they are an advantage for Armenia.
He sees a huge potential for involving Armenian communities in state-building processes. «First of all, I would like these relations not to be based only on Armenia's interest in investments from the Diapora and humanitarian mission. We should attract the culture of management and contacts,» he said.
As an example, Karapetyan pointed out the significant changed in service area and restaurant business which took place after Syrian Armenians came to Armenia.
Answering a question about recovery of quake-stricken Gyumri, he said that the government is now paying special attention to stimulating of provincial entrepreneurs' business projects as part of cooperation between private and public sectors.
«Of the eight business programs presented during the visit to Gyumri, we have approved seven,» the premier said adding that room for developing Gyumri into a tourist center is being discussed now.
By the end of his speech, he expressed confidence that Armenia will become the best country for Armenians. He vowed that his team will make every effort to put his statement into reality.
Georgy Ghazaryan, former Armenian ambassador to Russia, summarizing the results of Karapetyan's visit to Russia, said that despite hard times, the Armenian community in Russia backs him and supports the new government's approaches. -0----
