Presidents and head of Armenian Church discuss ways out of political crisis

The president of the Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Republic Bako Sahakyan and his Armenian counterpart Armen Sarkissian met today with the head of the Armenian Apostolic Church Catholicos Karekin n II and other senior clergy to discuss the ongoing political crisis in Armenia and ways out of it, stressing the need to preserve stability and legality, Sahakyan’s press office said.

Thousands of opposition leader Nikol Pashinyan’s supporters resumed protests across the Armenian capital Yerevan today morning. The opposition says after making prime minister Serzh Sargsyan to step down their next goal is to elect a popular prime minister and make the ruling Republican Party that has the majority in the parliament, cede power.
The Armenian popular movement nominated Nikol Pashinyan for the post of prime minister at an anti-government demonstration in Yerevan on April 25. -0-
