Prime minister demands drastic reduction of ministries’ substructures
YEREVAN, October 13. /ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan told his Cabinet ministers today to ‘drastically’ cut the number of their ministries’ substructures instead of their optimization.

During the Cabinet meeting, the head of the newly established State Committee for Urban Planning  Narek Sargsyan presented a number of decisions related to the restructuring of the former Ministry of Urban Development into a Committee, as well as the statute and the structure of the new agency.
He noted that as part of the restructuring some of its components will be optimized and some  will be enlarged, resulting in layoffs.

In this regard, the Prime Minister recalled that he had instructed all ministers to review the structure of their ministries.

"We are replacing the word" optimization " by  the expression" dramatic reduction " in order to rule out a wrong interpretation. We must get rid of  non-profit government organizations and project implementation  offices", - said Karapetyan.

He gave Narek Sargsyan five days to prepare cuts and present the new  structure of the committee .
"We are simplifying the management and getting rid of obscure substructures and their functions. We need to cut expenses dramatically so that the changes are not cosmetic", - Karapetyan said .-- 0 -
