Putin and Pashinyan discussed situation around Nagorno-Karabakh

YEREVAN, August 9. /ARKA/. Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed late on Monday the situation around Nagorno-Karabakh with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan by telephone, the Kremlin press service reported.
It said the phone conversation took place at the initiative of the Armenian side. "They discussed developments in the situation around Nagorno-Karabakh, as well as security issues on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. In this context, the importance of implementing all the provisions of the statements made by the leaders of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan on November 9, 2020, January 11 and November 26, 2021 was confirmed," the Kremlin said.
Two Karabakh Armenian soldiers were killed and 19 others were wounded in a fighting provoked by Azerbaijani armed forces on August 3 in another violation of the November 9, 2020 trilateral statement made by the leaders of Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan to end hostilities in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone.
The fighting occurred in the area of responsibility of the Russian peacekeeping contingent. Speaking at government session last Thursday, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan accused Azerbaijan of breaching the Russian-brokered ceasefire agreement that stopped the Armenian-Azerbaijani war over Nagorno-Karabakh in November 2020 and also called for adjusting the details of the Russian peacekeeping operation and specifying their mandate.-0-
