Putin congratulates Pashinyan on Armenia's Independence Day
YEREVAN, 21 September. /ARKA/. Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on Armenia's Independence Day, the government press service reports.
‘Development of Russian-Armenian friendly and allied relations, as well as constructive interaction within the framework of common integration associations undoubtedly correspond to the fundamental interests of our peoples,’ the message reads.
Putin wished Pashinyan health and success, and happiness and prosperity to all Armenian citizens.
On 21 September, Armenia celebrates the 33rd anniversary of independence. On this day in 1991 by the decision of the Supreme Council of the republic a referendum on secession from the USSR and the creation of an independent state was held. Almost the whole population voted in favour of the declaration of independence - about 99% of the citizens. -0-
