Russian President Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan today to inform him on the outcome of the trilateral meeting of the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia on January 11 in Moscow.

YEREVAN, January 13. /ARKA/. Russian President Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan today to inform him on the outcome of the trilateral meeting of the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia on January 11 in Moscow that looked into the progress in the implementation of the November 9 statement on ending hostilities in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone, kremlin.ru said.

Putin was said to have emphasized that one of the main results of the negotiations was that both Azerbaijan and Armenia confirmed their intention to normalize relations and their readiness for practical interaction in establishing a peaceful life and reopening of economic and transport links in the region.

In view of the stabilization of the situation around Nagorno-Karabakh, it was possible to agree on a number of important steps in this direction, according to the kremlin.ru.

"For his part, Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed support for Russia's efforts to help resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and spoke in favor of continuing coordination of actions between Russia and Turkey, including in the interests of economic development of the region and promotion of mutually beneficial projects," the kremlin.ru said.

Putin and Erdogan discussed also some aspects of the Russian-Turkish center for monitoring the ceasefire in the conflict zone . -0-
