Qatar abolishes entry visas for citizens of Armenia

Armenia's President Armen Sarkissian was received today by the Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Sarkissian's press service reported.
YEREVAN, November 19. /ARKA/. Armenia's President Armen Sarkissian was received today by the Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Sarkissian's press service reported. President Armen Sarkissian arrived in the State of Qatar on November 17 on an official visit.
Emir of Qatar congratulated Sarkissian on the opening of the Armenian Embassy in Qatar, describing relations between the countries as 'excellent.'
Sarkissian was said to have thanked the government of Qatar for abolition of entry visas for citizens of Armenia and the opening of Armenia's Embassy in Qatar.
He expressed confidence that the abolition of entry visas will have a positive impact on stimulating economic, cultural, scientific, educational and especially cultural ties between the two countries.
The President of Armenia and the Emir of Qatar were said to have emphasized the great potential of partnership between the two countries and the importance of expanding and strengthening bilateral relations. -0-
