YEREVAN, December 11. /ARKA/. The results of the early parliamentary elections held Sunday in Armenia as well as the Yerevan city council election conducted before the parliamentary race have sparked discord inside the Armenian Revolutionary Federation/Dashnaktsutiun and a riot is looming large inside the party, Hraparak reports.
According to the media source, Dashnaktsutyun’s defeat is one of the dramas of the elections.
On one side, the newspaper analysts say, this shows that people repudiated the political forces that occupied their niche in the former authorities’ system, and on the other side, those people who still remain stuck to the former authorities didn’t forgive the party’s movement to the opposite camp.
They also say that Dashnaktsutiun has run a lame election campaign, had sad posters and not reliable candidates topping the party list.
Armenian Acting Prime Minister’s My Step political bloc has won a sweeping victory in the elections with 70.43% of votes.
Prosperous Armenia scored 8.27% and Bright Armenia 6.37%. These parties will have their seats in the parliament.
The Republican Party of Armenia, that ruled the country before the people’s revolution in April, May 2018, failed to obtain even the 5% necessary for ensuring presence in the National Assembly – the party received only 4.7%. Dashnaktsutiun, too, with its 3.89%, failed to obtain any seat in the parliament. -0---
