YEREVAN, September 30. /ARKA/. The ruling Republican party of Armenia member Armen Karapetyan won the by-election to the parliament in the 38th electoral district.

The Central Electoral Commission also reports on its official website that Karapetyan gained 20,744 votes, as compared to 3,555 votes of his counterpart Samvel Hayrapetyan (Heritage party). Some 1,037 ballots were invalidated, according to the report.

Out of 50,370 eligible voters, 25,792 cast ballots in the by-election.

The parliament member vacancy occurred when MP Vahe Hakobyan was appointed as governor of Siunik region.–0--
