Russia hopes that Armenia and Azerbaijan will avoid further escalation-Peskov
YEREVAN, June 25. /ARKA/. Russia thinks that there will be no new escalation between Yerevan and Baku, Armenia and Azerbaijan are already very close to signing a peace treaty, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said at a press briefing.
“We think that this will not happen,” the Kremlin spokesman said, answering a relevant question, TASS reports.
“The countries are very close to completing work on the treaty, and we hope that this work will be finalized. This treaty is very necessary for stability and an atmosphere of security in the region,” the Russian leader’s press secretary said.
Peskov also said that Russia is ready to facilitate the signing of a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan if necessary.
