Russia Ready to Explore Possible Options for Joining the TRIPP Project – Zakharova

YEREVAN, January 30. /ARКА/. Russia is ready to explore possible options for joining the "Trump Road," said Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova.

According to her, all details of the initiative's implementation and operation should first be thoroughly examined.

"As we understand, the development of the project is only in the initial stages. Our proposal to Yerevan to hold substantive consultations with the participation of all interested parties remains valid," Zakharova said at a press briefing on Friday.

About the TRIPP Project

The agreement signed in Washington on August 8, 2025, by the leaders of Armenia, the United States, and Azerbaijan officially established the regional initiative known as the "Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP)."

On January 13, 2026, in Washington, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio released a joint statement outlining the framework for the TRIPP project's execution.

This framework specifies the launch mechanism for the project, which aims to develop multimodal transit connectivity through Armenia, including linking Azerbaijan's mainland with the Nakhchivan Autonomous Region and incorporating it into the Trans-Caspian Trade Route.

To facilitate the project, plans are in place to create the TRIPP Development Company, where Armenia intends to offer a 74% stake to the US while retaining 26%. The company is anticipated to be granted the rights to execute the project for a duration of 49 years.

Mirzoyan noted that the US investment will be financial, while Armenia's contribution will involve granting development rights.-0-
