YEREVAN, September 1. /ARKA/. Russia’s prosecutor general office will request from the U.S. Justice Department the materials of the criminal case against Sergey Mironov, a Russian citizen, had been arrested last Friday in Armenia’s Zvartnots Airport at the United States’ request on charges of an illegal transfer of military technologies and money laundering, but fled for Russia on Wednesday, Izvestia reports with reference to Mironov’s attorney.

“We will use all available means to obtain explanations from the American side about what happened in Armenia,” Mironov’s attorney, Karen Nersisyan, is quoted by Izvestia. “Now things have changed dramatically, since Sergey is already in Russia’s territory.”

Nersisyan said that if Mironov’s gilt is proven in an investigation of the matter in Russia, then he will be prosecuted in his homeland, TASS reports.
