Relations between Armenia and Greece have huge potential for development, and both countries should use it, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan said Wednesday as met with Hellenic Parliament Speaker Vangelis Meimarakis, who arrived in Yerevan on Tuesday for a two-day official visit, the presidential press office reports.

YEREVAN, February 26. /ARKA/. Relations between Armenia and Greece have huge potential for development, and both countries should use it, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan said Wednesday as met with Hellenic Parliament Speaker Vangelis Meimarakis who arrived in Yerevan on Tuesday for a two-day official visit, the presidential press office reports.  

Sargsyan stressed that Armenia attaches great importance to its relations with Greece, which are based on centuries-long friendship and historical ties.   

The president expressed hope that Meimarakis’ visit to Armenia will give a new impetus to development of this relationship. 

The Greek parliament speaker, on his side, expressed confidence that the friendship between the two nations will have bright future. 

The Armenian president and the Greek speaker stressed the importance of parliamentary diplomacy in political dialogue and expressed appreciation of friendship groups formed in Armenian and Greek parliaments. ---0---
