Serzh Sargsyan, Armenian president, who is in Russia for a working visit, participated in the informal meeting of the CIS member countries in Moscow, the presidential press office reported on Tuesday.

YEREVAN, December 27. /ARKA/. Serzh Sargsyan, Armenian president, who is in Russia for a working visit, participated in the informal meeting of the CIS member countries in Moscow, the presidential press office reported on Tuesday.  

At the meeting, the CIS countries’ leaders summed up the results of the Russian presidency in the CIS in 2017 and exchanged views on the further development of cooperation in different areas.

At the beginning of the meeting, Sargsyan joined his counterparts to thank Vladimir Putin, the host country president for Russia’s active presidency in the CIS and the organization of the informal meeting in Moscow. 

He said it is a good opportunity to highlight Russia’s stabilizing and unifying role and added that the economic developments in Russia this year have had a positive impact on the overall economic situation in Armenia. 

Sargsyan wished Russia and its president new achievements in the coming year for the benefit of the Armenian-Russian friendship.

He wished successful and active work to Emomali Rahmon, president of Tajikistan, which is taking over the CIS presidency in 2018. --0---
