Inspections in SAS, a chain of supermarkets in Yerevan, are not politically motivated – they are conducted as a result of tax evasion, Past (Fact) reports.

YEREVAN, January 24. /ARKA/. Inspections in SAS, a chain of supermarkets in Yerevan, are not politically motivated – they are conducted as a result of tax evasion, Past (Fact) reports.
According to the newspaper, tax agencies have found some employees working at the chain’s all five supermarkets without proper labor registration.
Many times customers have not received till slips. Considerable discrepancies have been found between data in cash registers and computers.
The chain of supermarkets has been fined AMD 20 million for that, but SAS has not paid the money and inspections have been launched again.
It became know in recent days that two SAS supermarkets had been closed for the state revenue commission’s tax audit.
The chain of SAS supermarkets is owned by Artak Sarkisyan, an MP from the ruling Republican Party of Armenia. ---0----
