Suspect Valery Permyakov, a serviceman at the Russian military base, was caught by Russian border troops as he attempted to cross Armenia-Turkey border. He confessed his guilt.
Preliminary investigation into the killings was completed on October 16.
On August 12, Russian military court sentenced Permyakov to 10 years in prison for desertion with a gun, and now he is being tried by Armenian court for murders. --0---
