Situation analysis center to check on reported violations in Armenian presidential vote

A situation analysis center has been set up at Armenia’s central electoral commission, under an instruction of the head of the commission Tigran Mukuchyan, the press service of the commission reports.

YEREVAN, February 18. /ARKA/. A situation analysis center has been set up at Armenia’s central electoral commission, under an instruction of the head of the commission Tigran Mukuchyan, the press service of the commission reports.
The aim of the center is to investigate into the cases of violations occurred during the presidential vote as reported in mass media and on the Internet. The center will check on the reliability of the information and provide clarifications, the press service said.
The center will systematize the data and submit it to the commission if the cases are confirmed.
The results of the studies will be posted on the commission’s official website.
Presidential elections are being held in Armenia today. Seven nominees are running for the country’s president: incumbent president Serzh Sargsyan, former prime minister and leader of Freedom party Hrant Bagratyan, former foreign minister and leader of Heritage party Raffi Hovhannisyan, well-known Soviet dissident and leader of National Self-Determination party Paruyr Hayrikyan, ex foreign minister of Karabakh Arman Melikyan, political scientist and head of Radio Hay Andrias Ghukasyan and specialist in epic studies Vardan Sedrakyan. –0--
