YEREVAN, April 4. /ARKA/. The situation in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) remains tense, Armenian Deputy Defense Minister Arman Sargsyan told reporters in parliament on Monday.

"In the village of Parukh, the situation remains unchanged," he said.

The deputy minister said also there have been no exchanges of fire or major fighting, but stressed that the situation may heat up at any moment.

"This calm is very fragile," Sargsyan added.

On March 24 Azerbaijani troops invaded the Armenian–populated village of Parukh in the Askeran region of Nagorno-Karabakh, triggering deadly fighting with Karabakh Armenian forces.

According to Nagorno-Karabakh defense ministry, at least 5 Azerbaijani soldiers and three Armenian soldiers were killed and many others wounded.

Azerbaijani troops partially withdrew from the area after the intervention of Russian peacekeepers stationed in Karabakh. -0-
