South Korea will open 10 new embassies around the world next year, including Armenia, Korea Joongang Daily reported citing the Foreign Ministry.
YEREVAN, November 9. /ARKA/. South Korea will open 10 new embassies around the world next year, including Armenia, Korea Joongang Daily reported citing the Foreign Ministry.
"We have determined the list of countries where new embassies will be opened based on the number of Koreans living in those countries and the support that Korean companies need to enter their markets," a spokesman for the Korean Foreign Ministry said.
Besides, Armenia, embassies will be opened also in Georgia, Estonia, Lithuania, Slovenia, Luxembourg, Marshall Islands, Sierra Leone, Jamaica and Zimbabwe.
Earlier this month Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan announced Armenia's intention to open an embassy in Seoul.
"The Republic of Korea recently sent a diplomatic note that it plans to open an embassy in Yerevan in the first half of 2024. Definitely, we also want to open our embassy in Seoul," Mirzoyan said. --0—
