YEREVAN, December 2. /ARKA/. Armenia's Foreign Ministry said today that Spain has completed domestic procedures for the ratification of the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between Armenia and the European Union.
It said on November 30, 2020, Spain notified the General Secretariat of the European Council of the completion of the necessary procedures for ratifying the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement.
The Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement between Armenia and the European Union was signed on November 24, 2017 and ratified by the Armenian Parliament on April 11, 2018. Armenia is the only member of the Russian-led Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) that signed such a document with the EU.
According to the Armenian Foreign Ministry, all 27 EU member states have completed the ratification procedures; however, Italy and Portugal have not yet officially notified the EU Secretariat of it.
Although this is a formality, all the countries must notify Brussels, after which it officially recognizes the completion of the ratification process. --0--
