"Because this show-off - they say that they spend money to unite people around themselves and then appoint them to political positions - well, this show-off does not work in Armenia anymore. There is no political force there, there is a wealthy person who ended up in prison and, as has been the case for decades in a row, an attempt is being made to find political asylum in parliament," he noted at a briefing.
On the criminal prosecution of Samvel Karapetyan
Samvel Karapetyan was arrested in Armenia on June 18 for two months on charges of publicly calling for the seizure of power. This happened after Karapetyan, after a meeting with Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II, stated that he had always been on the side of the Armenian Church and the Armenian people, and if politicians do not succeed, then "we are ready to participate in all this in our own way." Later, the arrest was again extended for two months.
About the "Mer Dzevov" movement
On August 29, it became known about the creation of the voluntary movement "Mer dzevov" on the initiative of the president of the "Tashir Group" Samvel Karapetyan. The message read on his behalf at the presentation of the movement says that it will become the basis on which a new political force will be formed, which everyone feels the need for today.
"The initiative is aimed at developing the economy, creating real opportunities for business and enrichment, strengthening family and national values, restoring Armenia's reputation as a reliable partner, ensuring the rights of the people of Artsakh to a dignified life, returning the youth's faith in the future through the development of the education system, and preserving and protecting our Holy Church," Karapetyan's message says.
