Spiritual leaders of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan to discuss Karabakh issue in Moscow

The Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II and the Chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Caucasus Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pasha-zade arrived in Moscow October 11 for a trilateral meeting with the participation of Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, TASS news agency reported citing the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate.

YEREVAN, October 12. /ARKA/. The Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II and the Chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Caucasus Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pasha-zade arrived in Moscow October 11 for a trilateral meeting with the participation of Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, TASS news agency reported citing the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate. It said the spiritual leaders will discuss the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement,

"Within the framework of the visit, on October 12, the Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II will meet with His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia. On October 13, a trilateral meeting of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, the Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II and Chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Caucasus Sheikh –ul-Islam Allahshukur Pasha-zadeh, dedicated to the Karabakh settlement, will take place,’ it said.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan was to leave October 12 for Russia for a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the press service of the Armenian government said October 11. It said the two men will discuss the implementation of the statements of November 9, 2020 and January 11, 2021, (signed by the leaders of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia to stop the war in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone and reopen transport links in the region respectively) as well as strengthening stability in the region and steps to restore economic ties. -0-
