YEREVAN, July 9. /ARKA/. Tashir Group of Companies expressed concern over the form and scope of investigative actions at the head office of ENA, which were carried out on July 8.

“Today, July 8, as part of the investigative actions carried out at the head office of Electric Networks of Armenia CJSC, Chairman of the Board of Directors Narek Karapetyan was brought to the building accompanied by law enforcement officers. At the moment, he has not been detained, his status has not been officially determined, and he is awaiting a call for questioning. We confirm that searches and investigative actions were carried out at the company's office. The management and employees of ENA provided full assistance to the investigative bodies within the framework of the law,” the statement reads.

The Tashir Group expressed concern over the form and scale of what is happening, stating that given the context and events of the past week, there is every reason to believe that what is happening is clearly politically motivated.

"The Tashir Group remains committed to the principles of openness, legality and constructive dialogue. We call on law enforcement agencies to act strictly within the framework of the Constitution and the Criminal Procedure Code, excluding any elements of pressure or public demonstrativeness. We are closely monitoring the developments and will promptly inform the public as reliable information comes in," the statement said.

As Kima Avdalyan, press secretary of the Investigative Committee of Armenia, previously told Novosti-Armenia, urgent investigative actions are being carried out within the framework of criminal proceedings initiated by the Main Department for Combating Economic Crimes and Smuggling of the Investigative Committee and the Investigative Department of Yerevan.

On July 3, the Armenian parliament adopted a package of legislative amendments allowing the nationalization of the Electric Networks of Armenia CJSC company. On July 8, the package of amendments was signed by Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan.-0-
