Armenian Central Election Commission releases preliminary results of elections to Council of Elders of Vagharshapat

The Central Election Commission of Armenia has released preliminary results of the elections to the Council of Elders of the enlarged community of Vagharshapat in the Armavir region, which took place on November 16.
YEREVAN, November 17. /ARKA/. The Central Election Commission of Armenia has released preliminary results of the elections to the Council of Elders of the enlarged community of Vagharshapat in the Armavir region, which took place on November 16.
According to data from all 47 polling stations, no political force received an absolute majority of the votes (50%).
15,298 people (48.5%) voted for the pro-government Civil Contract party (the leader of the list and mayoral candidate is Argishti Mekhakyan). It is followed by the Victory bloc (Forward Party and ARF, Sevak Khachatryan) - 10,051 votes (32.05%), the Mother Armenia National Democratic Party (Grisha Harutyunyan) - 1,692 votes (5.36%), the Homeland Party (Khachik Manukyan) - 1,193 votes (3.78%), the Free Democrats Party (Vahram Azatyan) - 1,177 votes (3.73%), the Republic Party (Harutyun Mkrtchyan) - 1,241 votes (3.94%), and the Heritage Party (Arkady Paytyan) - 440 votes (1.39%) and the Pan-Armenian Front (Artem Simonyan) - 295 votes (0.94%)
The total number of voters on the electoral lists was approximately 69,900, with 31,535 people (45.1%) participating in the vote. Some 132 ballots were invalidated.-0-
