President of Kazakhstan announces signing of strategic partnership document with Armenia
YEREVAN, November 21. /ARКА/. Kazakhstan and Armenia will sign a historic document elevating interstate relations to a new strategic level, announced Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev during talks with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, who is on an official visit to Astana.
"Our interstate relations have a special character. We have great opportunities ahead for further development of cooperation," Kazinform quoted Tokayev as saying.
According to him, an open and trusting political dialogue has developed between the two countries at all levels.
"Close and effective ties have been established in regional and international structures. Our cooperation in trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian, scientific, and educational areas is steadily developing," Tokayev noted.
He also stated that Armenia is one of Kazakhstan's main political, trade, and economic partners in the South Caucasus, and the Kazakh people hold Armenian culture, its ancient history, rich culture, and traditions in high regard.
"Your country has become one of the most popular tourist destinations for Kazakhs. This year, significant events have been held that have contributed to the rapprochement between our countries. Days of Kazakh Culture were held in Armenia for the first time, and a park in honor of the great Kazakh poet and educator Abai Kunanbayuly was opened in Yerevan," Tokayev said.
The President of Kazakhstan also announced the signing of a number of important agreements.
"Your visit is of particular significance. We are confident that it will give significant impetus to the development of the strategic partnership between our countries," Tokayev noted.
Pashinyan, in turn, thanked the President of Kazakhstan for the invitation to visit Kazakhstan.
"This visit will give new push to our bilateral relations. I believe that this new era in our relations was ushered in by your official visit to the Republic of Armenia last year, following which we signed a number of important agreements, some of which have already been implemented, while others are in the process of being implemented," the Armenian Prime Minister said.-0-
