YEREVAN, August 14. /ARKA/. . There is nothing terrible, tragic and ominous for Armenia in the initialed text of the peace treaty with Azerbaijan, Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Minister David Khudatyan said today.

“Earlier, various ominous comments were heard regarding the text of the peace treaty, but after the recent publication of the text, it turned out that there is nothing terrible, tragic and ominous for Armenia in it. We are used to the fact that comments will be made on this document until the moment comes to present a roadmap for the implementation of the signed document,” Khudatyan noted at a press briefing on Thursday.

According to him, Armenia receives unblocked roads from the initialed agreement with Azerbaijan, while maintaining territorial integrity and sovereignty, which is important in terms of the development.

“At this stage, sufficient information and comments have already been provided, I have nothing to add regarding the further steps based on the results of the initialed agreement. Work processes will start in the near future. When the moment comes to provide additional information, the government will undoubtedly provide it,” Khudatyan said.

The minister also emphasized that the initialing of the peace treaty brings Armenia “a very big step” closer to peace, which is an expected, joyful and important event for every citizen of Armenia.

The seven-point declaration signed following the trilateral meeting between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, U.S. President Donald Trump, and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on August 8 in Washington includes the initialing of the “Agreement on Peace and Interstate Relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan”, the joint application to the OSCE on the dissolution of the OSCE Minsk Group mechanisms, the unblocking of regional communications within the framework of the principles of territorial integrity, sovereignty, and jurisdiction of countries and on the basis of reciprocity, as well as the “Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity” project.-0-
