Three key documents signed between the US and Armenia following the meeting between Trump and Pashinyan in Washington - Khandanyan

YEREVAN, August 8. /ARKA/. A number of important and key documents were signed between the US and Armenia following the meeting between US President Donald Trump and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in Washington.
As Sargis Khandanyan, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations of the National Assembly of Armenia, stated that very important documents were signed. In particular, he highlighted the signing of a key document concerning the “Crossroads of Peace” project.
According to him, the US expresses its support for the Armenian government’s “Crossroads of Peace” project. This implies that the US will cooperate with Armenia in implementing this infrastructure program and in implementing investments, in particular, in developing customs and border technical capabilities.
"In this document, the United States expresses its unwavering support for the territorial integrity, sovereignty and inviolability of Armenia's borders, and this support is within the framework of these principles," Khandanyan noted.
He stated that this document gives the Crossroads of Peace project the highest praise from the United States, adding that it is a strategic project, in response to the reaction of a number of opposition representatives that it is just a brochure that the authorities carry under their arms back and forth.
"The second document concerns energy, which is enshrined in the concept of strategic partnership between the two countries. The United States will cooperate and support Armenia in the issue of energy security, in particular, importance is attached to the development of civilian nuclear energy, and the United States expresses its readiness to implement investments in this matter. In particular, in the issue of building a new nuclear power plant, the United States will provide tangible support to Armenia. In addition to nuclear energy, there is also renewable energy," he said.
Khandanyan said that the third important document that was signed between the US and Armenia concerns the development of technology and artificial intelligence.
"The US and Armenia will also cooperate here with the involvement of the private sector in order to assess Armenia's capabilities and invest in this area," Khandanyan said.
