Three parties unite for elections

Three Armenian political parties - Bright Armenia, Hanrapetutyun (Republic) and the Civil Contract signed a memorandum today to jointly participate in the parliamentary elections and the elections of Yerevan Council of Elders next year.

YEREVAN, December 12. /ARKA/. Three Armenian political parties - Bright Armenia, Hanrapetutyun (Republic) and the Civil Contract signed a memorandum today to jointly participate in the parliamentary elections and the elections of Yerevan Council of Elders next year. The document notes that the parties are likely to merge into a single party.
"This alliance is based on the ideology. We hope to meet the expectations and aspirations of the Armenian citizens ", - the chief of Hanrapetutyun party Aram Sargsyan said.
The head of Bright Armenia Edmond Marukyan, in turn, announced that the aim of the alliance will be the fight against lies and deceit emanating from the ruling forces.
"We will spare no effort to make the Armenian statehood a benefit not only for the people of Armenia and all Armenians," - Marukyan said. He said the alliance is open to other political forces.
A representative of the Civil Contract, opposition MP Nikol Pashinyan said the alliance would seek to win more than 50% of the vote in parliamentary elections. He added that the alliance does not serve the interests of external actors.
Parliamentary elections in Armenia will be held in the spring of 2017. -0-
