U.S. ready to assist Armenian government in implementation of reforms

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs George Kent had a meeting today in Yerevan to discuss a sting of issues, including the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the situation in the world, regional challenges and a number of other issues, the Armenian government press office said.

YEREVAN, October 15. /ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs George Kent had a meeting today in Yerevan to discuss a sting of issues, including the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the situation in the world, regional challenges and a number of other issues, the Armenian government press office said.

Pashinyan was said to have welcomed the visit of the Deputy Assistant Secretary to Armenia, saying it is a good opportunity for the sides to discuss ways for boosting bilateral relations.

Pashinyan was said to have spoken about the latest developments in Armenia, saying that the country is steadily heading along the path of democratic progress. He also spoke about consistent work in the fight against corruption and reforms in various areas.

George Kent was quoted as saying that he is happy to visit Armenia in a period marked by big changes, saying also that the United States emphasizes further expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation with Armenia.

He noted that the US government is interested in seeing Armenia succeed in the development of democracy, as well as in the economic sphere. He said it is ready to help the Armenian government in the process of implementing the planned reforms. –0-
