UN Assistant Secretary General, Deputy Head of UNDP arrives in Armenia
YEREVAN, May 6. /ARKA/. Assistant Secretary General of the United Nations, Deputy Administrator of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), Director of the Regional Bureau for Europe and CIS countries Ivana Živković arrived in Armenia on May 5 on a four-day visit, the press service of the UNDP office in Armenia reported.
The visit is aimed at discussing UNDP's partnership with the Armenian government, familiarizing with key UNDP activities on the ground, including refugee crisis response, as well as reviewing UNDP's development program and key priorities with international and national partners.
Ivana Živković, together with UNDP Resident Representative in Armenia Natia Natsvlishvili, will meet with National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonian to launch a new parliamentary democracy program, and will also hold meetings with the Deputy Prime Minister and Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia. Discussions will be held with the UN country team, diplomatic corps, development partners and civil society representatives.
Ivana Živković will familiarize herself with UNDP projects in Gegharkunik, Tavush, Ararat, Vayots Dzor and Syunik and meet with the beneficiaries.
Ivana Živković assumed her duties in September 2022. Prior to her appointment, she served as Director General for Economic Affairs and Development Cooperation at the Croatian Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs. -0-
